How we made Tryptopure the "Most Trusted" brand
Ajinomoto was one of the first companies to manufacture pharmaceutical-grade amino
acids for medical and nutritional use. We literally invented the processes for making
these products.
Purity
About 15 years ago, makers in China and elsewhere began making tryptophan using
processes that extracted amino acids from human hair. While this is very cost effective,
it often results in serious impurities. The Chinese and other manufacturers also
make lower grade material for animal (non-human) feed. This is the source for a
significant amount of tryptophan on the market today. The process used to produce
this tryptophan does not however include the Ajinomoto purification process, which
is critical to assuring the highest purity available.
Non-animal raw materials
Tryptopure from Ajinomoto is only manufactured via fermentation from vegetable materials.
Ajinomoto does not extract from hair or any other animal source. No other tryptophan
available has a higher level of purity than Tryptopure—it's between 99% and 100%
pure tryptophan. Other tryptophans have levels of impurities up to six times higher.
