Dipeptide/Oligopeptides Production
Ajinomoto recently developed a powerful biopharmaceutical technology for the production
of small peptides. The process uses fermentation to produce an enzyme that subsequently
bonds single amino acids into di-, tri-, and oligopeptides.
Ajinomoto's newly discovered enzyme system possesses a number of significant advantages
over existing industrial methods of creating dipeptides/oligopeptides:
- Faster reaction rates
- Higher yields
- Broad substrate specificity
- Elimination of racemization separations
- No need for the use of protected amino acid with costly deprotection steps
Ajinomoto's innovative and highly effective enzymation process can be used to produce
a wide range of diverse short-length peptides. To see how our procees can help you
improve amino acid stability or improve your cell culture operation please contact

Oligopeptides Production
- Oligopeptides can also be synthesized using amino acid esters as acyl donors and
peptides as nucleophiles.
- Most peptides tested as nucleophiles attacked the amino acid methyl esters well,
producing excellent yields of the corresponding oligopeptides
